Preparation
Review equipment records, fault history, drawings and the overhaul scope. Prepare qualified personnel, tools, lifting appliances, replacement parts and inspection instruments.
Safety Isolation
Stop the crane in a safe position, disconnect and lock out all energy sources, establish the work area and verify zero-energy conditions before disassembly.
Initial Inspection
- Inspect structural members, fasteners, welds and access platforms.
- Check motors, brakes, reducers, couplings, drums, sheaves and wire ropes.
- Inspect electrical cabinets, controllers, limit devices, wiring and grounding.
Record findings, measurements and parts requiring repair or replacement. Subsequent work shall follow the approved overhaul plan and manufacturer requirements.
